En Maadi En Thottam association is the FIRST and ONLY association in puducherry started for terrace / kitchen gardening. Our aim is to encourage and guide people to grow chemical Free vegetables and fruits as far as possible by themselves and consume the same. Nowadays most of the fruits and vegetables are cultivated using harmful chemical pesticides and preservatives. These cause many diseases and heath issues to our body. so we want people to stay out of these harmful chemicals and remain healthy.
Why we started this association?
1. To gather people who have interest in gardening.
2. Basic knowledge regarding Terrace / Kitchen gardening is made known to interested beginners.
3. For people who already have terrace/ kitchen gardens , we insist them to use organic manures / composts and Natural pesticides to increase the yield and to be poison free.
4. Our aim is to create an awareness regarding organic way of gardening especially among urban people and initiate them to grow their own food ( vegetables and fruits).
Benefits enjoyed by our association members :
1. We exchange many technical details regarding Terrace / Kitchen gardening.
2. We conduct demo classes to impart the knowledge of Organic Manures / Composts and Natural Pesticide preparation.
3. We invite experienced technical-know-how officials from Agriculture Department and conduct training programs regarding Terrace / kitchen gardening.
4. we help our members to purchase raw materials at less cost.
5. We conduct weekly garden visit to the Terrace / Kitchen gardens of our association members and have discussions with them regarding the improvement of their garden.
